It’s been great to see all the excitement and energy around National Family Meals Month. With a few weeks left to celebrate, we wanted to share how some food retailers are encouraging families to join the family meals movement.
1. Getting RD’s Involved – Many food retailers have engaged Registered Dietitians in the celebration, challenging them to develop recipe ideas and help shoppers make family meals easy and fun.

2. Contests on Social Media – Food retailers are tapping to people’s competitive side and hosting contests around National Family Meals Month through social media.
3. Sharing Meal Solutions – From recipes to prepared foods, grocers are talking about ways to make family meals happen.

4. Broadcasting the Story of Family Meals – Supermarkets are spreading the word about family meals on multiple airwaves including TV, radio, news channels and social media.
5. Showcasing Supermarket Chefs – What better way to showcase the power of family meals than to engage supermarket chefs?
6. Getting Staff Involved – Employees are at the heart of making family meals a success. Stores are asking their employees to join the movement and raise your mitt.
7. Taking a Chance – One local store took to Periscope and broadcasted an employee’s first taste of Brussel sprouts while sharing the importance of trying new things at family mealtime.
