Congratulations to the 267 incredible individuals from 17 companies who have recently completed the Future Leaders eXperience online course and earned the Food Retail Leader Certificate! This achievement marks not just the end of a rigorous educational journey, but the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities, challenges, and the promise of making a meaningful impact in the food retail industry.
The Learning Journey
We are celebrating a 94% completion rate for this year’s eXperience. Earning this certificate is no small feat. It takes dedication, hard work and commitment to learning. Balancing this course with a full-time job, family responsibilities, and the chaos of summer holidays in grocery stores is no small feat, so these leaders’ perseverance speaks volumes about their determination and passion for the industry.
Throughout the course, participants gained insights into the complexities of leadership, from setting clear expectations, coaching and developing, encouraging inclusiveness and celebrating wins both big and small. Self-awareness, communication styles and strategic thinking are skills learned that will be invaluable as these new Food Retail Leaders step into or advance their roles within the industry.
We also thank our 18 volunteer Coaches who returned to the eXperience to lead teams of future leaders by holding check-in calls, reflecting on course material, sharing real life experiences and encouraging their team members to keep up with the sessions. Some teams even held celebratory virtual Happy Hours to toast to their achievements!
A Bright Future
With shifting consumer expectations, the rise of e-commerce and the need for sustainable practices, the challenges the food retail industry faces are significant—but so are the opportunities.
This cohort of Food Retail Leaders is equipped to navigate this dynamic landscape with confidence and vision. They will embrace the chance to lead with integrity, innovate with purpose, and inspire others along the way.
