This week, Robert Garfield, senior vice president, and LeAnn Chuboff, vice president of technical affairs, of the Safe Quality Food Institute presented at Specialty Food Association’s Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, California. The SQF team provided insights on Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), Listeria outbreaks, FSMA deadlines, and allergen recalls during their “Peeking Into the Future of Food Safety” session.
Additionally, FMI and SQF hosted the Food Safety Information Center and met with attendees as well as old friends, identical twins, Michael and Charlie Kalish, known as The Cheese Twins.
Previous winners of the Food Network's Great Food Truck Race (Series 7) and Chopped finalists (Episode: Twins for the Win), the Cheese Twins are huge proponents of the SQF Program. Their day job is consulting companies on how to successfully implement and maintain the SQF program. Michael, on the right, is also an SQF trainer and works with one of the SQF Officially Licensed training centers. We appreciate both their time and talent to moving food safety along.
