This is our 100th post on the Voice of Food Retail and we wanted to take a moment to thank our followers for their support and readership. We’ve delighted in launching this blog, which has allowed us to share resources and information from FMI’s subject matter experts more widely with food retailers and stakeholders.
We’re not the only ones that have something to celebrate. Some U.S. food retailers still in business today are 100 years old or older including the following stores:
- Great A&P Tea Co. (1859)
- Shaw’s (1862)
- Ralph’s (1873)
- Hannaford Bros. (1883)
- Kroger (1883)
- Walgreens (1901)
- H.E. Butt (1906)
- Von’s (1906)
- Weis (1912)
- Stop & Shop (1914)
