The 2026 Community Uplift Awards nominees show how food industry companies are strengthening communities through hunger relief, health and wellness, sustainability, workforce development and local partnerships while advancing business success.

One of my favorite parts of the Community Uplift Awards is seeing how organizations across the food industry are redefining what it means to serve their communities.
The 2026 nominees represent a wide range of business models, geographies and company sizes. Yet they share a common belief that creating value for customers and communities goes hand in hand.
Across the industry, community engagement has evolved beyond traditional corporate giving. Today's leading organizations are embedding community impact into their business strategies through hunger relief, health and wellness programs, sustainability initiatives, workforce development and local partnerships. These efforts not only address immediate needs but also help build stronger, more resilient communities for the future.
Two nominees illustrate this evolution particularly well.
WK Kellogg Co., a long-standing FMI member, continues to demonstrate how a company's heritage can inspire meaningful action today. While many consumers see a bowl of cereal as a simple part of their morning routine, WK Kellogg Co. sees an opportunity to create healthier, happier futures. Through its Feeding Happiness initiative, the company honors founder W.K. Kellogg's legacy by addressing food insecurity through food donations, fundraising efforts and employee volunteerism. It is a powerful example of how purpose can remain at the center of a business for generations.
FedUp Foods, one of FMI's newer members, offers a different but equally compelling model. Purpose-driven from the start, the company combines premium functional beverage production with environmental stewardship and community investment. By reinvesting resources locally and supporting initiatives that strengthen the communities where it operates, FedUp Foods demonstrates that emerging companies can make a meaningful impact while building a successful business.
What stands out most about this year's nominees is the diversity of approaches. Some focus on expanding access to food, others on improving health outcomes, supporting employees, advancing sustainability or strengthening local economies. Together, they reflect the unique role food industry companies play as trusted community anchors.
The Community Uplift Awards celebrate more than individual programs. They highlight the collective impact of an industry that shows up every day for the people and communities it serves. Congratulations to all of our 2026 nominees for demonstrating that business success and community leadership are stronger together.
