Web Seminar

THIS CONFERENCE IS NOW FULL, AND REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED.

FMI will hold a members-only web seminar on June 3, 2009 at 2:30 pm EST to review the procedures that the U.S. Department of Agriculture and its state inspector partners will use to inspect retail stores for compliance with the country of origin labeling (COOL) regulations. As noted previously, USDA plans to conduct 5,000 such reviews before November 2009, which means that about 1 out of every 7 grocery stores in the United States will be inspected in the next 6 months.

Join us to review the instructions that USDA gave to its state inspector to learn how the state inspectors will conduct their COOL reviews and what they will be looking for. Your questions and comments will be welcome throughout the presentation.

If you have any questions regarding COOL, please contact Deborah White at dwhite@fmi.org; if you have questions regarding the web seminar, please contact Susan Arena at sarena@fmi.org.

[PLEASE NOTE: The June 3 web seminar is an additional session scheduled to cover just USDA inspection procedures; the web seminar held on Friday May 22 addressed USDA's latest interpretation of the regulations.]
