Round Ups in Schnucks stores in other markets will support the National Urban League.
  • Schnucks’ commitment to continue supporting the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis’ (ULSTL) annual St. Louis Urban Expo and donating food and other products for the organization’s annual holiday meal campaign.

  • The ULSTL’s continued use of Schnucks’ warehouse facility for the food distribution events which serve the community by helping to fight food insecurity.
  • Schnucks Director of Community Engagement and Customer Care Schron Jackson was recently honored by the Urban League because of the leadership she provides to Schnucks’ community engagement efforts as well as for her many contributions to the greater St. Louis community.

A team of 17 Schnucks teammates volunteered for the six-hour food and school supply distribution drive thru event. The company donated more than $10K in food products for distribution at the event that served more than 6,000 people. In 2020, Schnucks donated more than $12K in food and served more than 5,500 families in need.

The program is designed to provide support for those in need. The Urban League in conjunction with some of its primary community partners offer food, book bags, and school supplies during the Urban Expo to ensure that every child in the communities we call home have access to food and school supplies to kick off the new school year. Schnucks and the Urban League have a shared mission to fight food insecurity and hunger - all while nourishing people's lives. Together, we are committed to helping our neighbors and building better communities along the way.

Schnucks customers and the company donated a total of $200,000 to support the Urban League through the “Round Up at the Register” campaign to celebrate Black History Month in February.

At Schnucks, we are focused on Nourishing People’s Lives, not only by helping our customers to feed and care for their families, but also by actively working to strengthen our communities. As a company that provides jobs to more than 14,000 teammates, one of our community pillars is to help develop the workforce in our cities and neighborhoods - a goal shared by the Urban League through their Save our Sons program.
