Arlington, Va. – Today, FMI — The Food Industry Association announced the promotion of five staff members to leadership roles spanning SQFI technology and customer service, state and local government relations, communications, and marketing. These advancements reflect FMI’s continued investment in the expertise and leadership needed to support its members and deliver greater value to the food industry.

These promotions recognize individuals who consistently deliver meaningful results and help advance our mission to support the food industry. Daniel Akinmolayan
Daniel Akinmolayan is promoted to senior director of digital strategy & customer service at Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI), a division of FMI. Akinmolayan has demonstrated strong leadership, accountability and a collaborative coaching style, helping advance SQFI priorities and elevate team performance. He led the completion of Phase 1 registration and database enhancements, as well as a year-long data cleanup and migration to the CMX platform, accelerating system adoption and driving revenue growth. His work strengthens the foundation for future digital development and data capabilities while supporting more than 8,000 global customer inquiries.
Mike Green

Mike Green is promoted to senior director of state & local government relations at FMI. Green has expanded his leadership across FMI’s state sustainability policy portfolio, including packaging and extended producer responsibility issues, while serving as staff liaison to key committees and editor of the FMI Sustainability Policy Report. He has also led advocacy campaigns and developed educational materials on emerging issues such as digital shelf labels and algorithmic pricing, advancing FMI’s policy objectives through strong coalition building and member engagement.

Matt McKinney
Matt McKinney is promoted to director of communications at FMI. McKinney has been instrumental in advancing FMI’s policy communications and public affairs efforts, strengthening media engagement and delivering clear, impactful messaging across press, digital and member channels. He is recognized for his strategic approach to translating complex policy topics into compelling narratives that support FMI’s advocacy priorities.

Bianca Ruffin
Bianca Ruffin is promoted to senior director of marketing at FMI. Since becoming director in 2021, Ruffin has expanded her role to lead enterprise-wide marketing initiatives that support FMI’s strategic priorities. She has advanced the organization’s marketing technology ecosystem, strengthened campaign performance tracking, and supported membership recruitment efforts. Her leadership has elevated marketing’s role as a driver of engagement, visibility and revenue across the organization.

Kelli Windsor
Kelli Windsor is promoted to vice president of web & digital communications at FMI. Windsor has played a key role in advancing FMI’s digital strategy, strengthening its platforms and elevating the voice of the food industry. She has led efforts to modernize digital operations, expand the use of data analytics and position FMI for continued growth. Windsor is a trusted and collaborative leader dedicated to advancing FMI’s mission through innovation and strategic vision.
