Attendee Favorite Announced Live at FMI Midwinter Executive Conference

ORLANDO – FMI – The Food Industry Association today announces Hyer as the winner of the second-annual FMItech Pitch Competition live at the FMI Midwinter Executive Conference. Six finalists presented their food retail technology start-up solutions and event attendees voted on the winner, with the workforce app selected as the attendee favorite.

“Retailers have been accelerating their investments across a wide range of technologies and are seeing many initiatives pay off by enhancing overall capabilities,” said FMI Vice President, Industry Relations, Doug Baker. “We know from our research that most food retailers and suppliers expect their technology expenses to increase in coming years. This competition aligns with our members’ needs for creating operational and financial efficiencies in addition to enhancing the grocery shopping experience for their consumers.”

 FMItech Pitch Competitions Finalists

Contestants submitted three-minute video nominations that were reviewed by the FMI Technology Council Committee and are listed below with their pitch focus: 

  • Amoobi presented on AI shopper behavior monitoring.
  • Hyer presented a hiring process automation tool.
  • HuLoop Automation, Inc. presented on AI-powered hyper-automation.
  • OjaExpress presented its local, international grocery delivery service.
  • Sifter, LLC presented its personalized shop-by-diet program.
  • Verneek presented on AI-assisted shopper journeys.
