Patrick Davis Rejoins FMI as Vice President of State Government Relations

ARLINGTON, VA— May 27, 2011—The Food Marketing Institute announced today the appointment of Patrick Davis as vice president, state government relations. Prior to rejoining FMI, Davis served as president of Alliance Consulting, LLC.

Davis will serve as the principal liaison between FMI and state associations. In this leadership role, he will be the information conduit regarding industry resources, state-level legislation and policy trends. He will also be responsible for developing and communicating policies on behalf of FMI.

His extensive knowledge of food industry operations provides solid grounding for his task of establishing, promoting and communicating state-level legislation as an advocate for the food retail and wholesale industry.”

As president and founder of Alliance Consulting, LLC, Davis served multiple clients (including FMI) on managing national trade association activities. In that role, he organized public affairs campaigns, facilitated share groups of FMI’s of regional supermarket operators and helped clients promote their services to the supermarket industry.

Prior to founding Alliance Consulting, Davis worked as president of FMI’s North American Perishable Agricultural Receivers (NAPAR) group where he provided key information to US congressional offices and federal agencies on issues pertaining to the wholesale distribution of fresh produce. Davis’ experience in FMI spanned 20 years, where he also held key leadership roles, including director, eastern operations, responsible for implementing strategic initiative programs and managing recruitment and retention of FMI members.

Before joining FMI, Davis spent six years working in government relations positions at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) and Safeway Stores, Inc.

Davis earned a bachelor’s degree from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University.
