Allergen Awareness Training

This training raises employee awareness about customer food allergies in a retail food setting.  Specifically, it focuses on areas where the risk of cross-contamination is highest, such as the deli and self-serve stations.

In 35 minutes, participants will learn about the nine major allergens recognized in the U.S., allergen labeling requirements, managing allergen cross-contact risks in retail grocery stores and ways to notify customers about potential food allergens.

Developed for FMI by the International Food Protection Training Institute (IFPTI), this concise course trains employees and protects customers. It can be part of a comprehensive allergen management program.
