General Session: Navigating the VUCA Supply Chain In the Post Pandemic Era

Pre-pandemic strategy for ensuring resilience and efficiency was focused on cost reductions. Retailers and CPGs reduced upstream inventory levels and cut staff to a bare minimum, resulting in less agility to react to significant disruptions. We are still recovering from the upheaval that ensued when the COVID pandemic began two and a half years ago. The pandemic changed employee expectations and showcased labor’s importance in every aspect of the value chain. To maintain resilience companies will need to adapt to elevated employee expectations and leverage technologies that enable automation. Participate in a thought-provoking session exploring how industry leaders can leverage these trends and technologies to be at the forefront of driving transformative change in their organizations.

General Session: Activating the Supply Chain for Social Good: How the Transportation Industry Can Combat Human Trafficking

We know that members of the transportation industry are in the same places … and in a position to make a difference. Tips from truck drivers alone have helped to identify over 1,300 victims of human trafficking across our nation. Building on the corporate social responsibility and sustainability movements and leveraging purchasing power, Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) is utilizing pre-existing relationships between manufacturers, shippers, and carriers to spread the word about this important work and train more transportation professionals. Join us to learn how you can use your supply chain to effect change and help aid law enforcement in the discovery and disruption of human trafficking networks across North America.

General Session: When Systems Fail: Crisis Response Requires an Enterprise Approach

The last two-plus years have been an extraordinary experience for our industry. While no event in modern times has demonstrated the impact of external disruption more clearly than COVID-19, regional crisis events due to continued adverse weather patterns, growing resource scarcity, and a lack of interdependency and supply visibility will continue to hamper response and recovery and cost businesses millions. With the premise, ALL disasters are local, the management of a crisis is not a one-size-fits-all approach. There are hallmarks of what improves reliability, stability and resilience for strains and shocks due to a natural or human-made disaster
