RESERVATIONS

After this date, FMI cannot guarantee availability or the reduced conference rate. Reservations will be subject to the hotel’s current availability and rates.

FMI has negotiated a special rate of $229.00 per night plus taxes (single/double occupancy). Rate includes complimentary access to the fitness center. Please make reservations early to avoid disappointment as the room block is likely to sell out early.

HOTEL CANCELLATION & CHANGES

The hotel must receive notice of hotel cancellations or changes no later than 72 hours prior to your arrival or one night’s room and tax is forfeited. All hotel changes, substitutions, and/or cancellations must be made directly with the hotel, or through the reservation method used to secure the reservation.

*Please Note: Hotel reservations are accepted on a first-come, first served basis, including requests for specific room types. Hotel rates do not include hotel taxes (currently 14.75% which includes City Tax 4%, State Tax 9%, New Orleans Tourism tax 1.75% and additional occupancy fee of $2.00 subject to change without notice). The hotel requires a credit card to guarantee reservations, as well as an arrival and departure date. All hotel changes, substitutions, and/or cancellations must be made directly with the hotel, or through the reservation method used to secure the reservation. Please note that in order to have a reservation in the group room block, you must register for the Food Marketing Institute Conference. FMI reserves the right to review the conference room block and remove those individuals who have not registered for the conference. One (1) hotel reservation per registered delegate will be accommodated. The hotel reservation should be made under the corresponding registered delegate’s name to avoid confusion.

TRAVEL

Airport: Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MYS) is approximately 15 miles from The Ritz-Carlton.

Taxi: $36 one-way per car. Pick-up is on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area.

Regional Transit Authority (RTA): Streetcars in New Orleans offer $1.25 and can be paid with exact change when you board. 1, 3, and 31-day unlimited ride Jazzy Passes are also available for $3, $9 and $55 respectively. See the Regional Transit Authority (RTA)'s website for a list of places to purchase these. Please note that passes are non-refundable and non-replaceable. Getting around New Orleans by streetcar is a great way to see the city. There are three different lines: St. Charles, Canal Street, and the Riverfront, each of which originates downtown but takes you different parts of the city. Fares listed above and routes and schedules listed below are subject to change - check directly with the RTA directly for the latest information.

Parking is available at The Ritz-Carlton. Currently, overnight valet parking is $45.00 plus tax, with “in and out” privileges. Rates are subject to change without notice.

Climate: Temperatures vary throughout the day. The average highs during the day range between 76-82 degrees with the average lows at night between 63-69 degrees. Rain is very erratic and unpredictable during April. It is not uncommon to see occasional light showers throughout the day.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Refund of the registration fee, minus a $75.00 processing fee, will be made for any cancellation received in writing to register@fmi.org by April 19, 2015. If notice is received by April 26, 2015, a 60% refund will be given. Any cancellations received after April 26, 2015, will not be refunded. Please note, registrations can be transferred to another company employee at any point prior to the conference.
