Interactive Workshop: Supply Chain Disaster Simulation Exercise
Tuesday, September 26 | 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
During ALAN’s Disaster Response Exercise, you will participate in a live action simulation mimicking the chaos of running a critical supply chain in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. As part of the game, you’ll be assigned the role of a business, government, or non-profit official tasked with delivering food, water, and medicine to a community with limited resources.
During the exercise, you will:
- See impacts of a “typical” disaster
- Buy, sell, donate, and ship resources to serve disaster survivors
- Experience challenges of decision making with incomplete information
- Practice “rapid trust building” skills
- Discuss how sector-specific considerations affect response and recovery
