In the wake of the historic 2022 White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health and release of the National Strategy, we look to engage in real and meaningful action. Our work and commitments towards the national goal to end hunger and increase healthy eating and physical activity by 2030, so that fewer Americans experience diet-related diseases like diabetes, obesity, and hypertension are imperative toward national change.
This report, available to FMI members and attendees, recaps the events of the October 28, 2022 event, captures insights and perspectives from speakers and attendees, and outlines next steps for the industry.
Building on the momentum of the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health, FMI -- the Food Industry Association and Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy will bring together food and nutrition leaders on October 28 to forge solutions and collective actions to end hunger, improve nutrition and reduce diet-related disease. This will include discussion of commitments made before the White House Conference as well as new commitments made after release of the National Strategy.
This convening is designed to stimulate enthusiasm and engagement following the White House Conference and to build on commitments to help advance the National Strategy.
