FDA released its final rule on Foreign Supplier Verification Programs as part of the agency’s implementation of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). The rule requires that all importers establish programs to verify that foods imported into the U.S. are produced in compliance with certain U.S. food safety standards.
