Last month, Matt Grizzard, director of member services, and a handful of food retailers visited northern Italy to see and experience food production from the other side of the world. The group visited the production facilities for wine, Parmigiano Reggiano, and balsamic vinegar to examine various factors in the food supply chain and apply the findings to their store operations. It was also an opportunity for the retailers to watch how the foods they sell in-store are created!
