Tally Robot

When you stop and think about it, robots can be found everywhere. We have self-driving cars in development by various auto manufacturers, surgical robots in use for invasive procedures in hospitals, humanoid looking customer service bots in hotels and airports, and the Roomba still making its rounds in peoples’ homes to help keep houses clean.

Robots are a part of both business and personal lives. Currently, we see robotics primarily in manufacturing in our industry, but what can we look forward to seeing in our offices and grocery stores in the near future? We’re bringing a few of these ideas to FMI Connect this year and plan to keep a close watch on what to expect in the years to come. Here are some technology highlights to be sure to catch:

  • Don’t be surprised if that person greeting you on the expo floor is really a hologram. Holographic Greeter at Booth 2453 will be showcasing holographic greeters for the ultimate futuristic hospitality experience.
  • Simbe Robotics, the robot company automating the more mundane, repetitive tasks for the retail industry, will be showcasing Tally, the world's first robotic autonomous shelf auditing and analytics solution in the Technology Zone at Pod #6 or roaming the FMI Connect Expo floor. Tally can help you combat out-of-stock items, empty shelves and other in-store inconsistencies.
  • The Tech Bar in the Technology Zone will be featuring the latest wearable technologies and let you test drive the newest gadgets shoppers will be bringing into your aisles. Spends some time at the Tech Bar and think about how your grocery store can utilize these technology trends.
  • From artificial intelligence in retail to customer loyalty programs and even digital payment systems, our Tech Bytes in the Technology Zone will arm you with the technology know-how you need to bring your grocery store into the future. Check out the full list of Tech Bytes and all the Technology education at FMI Connect.
