Q. Who can attend The FMI Midwinter Conference?

A. The FMI Midwinter Conference is senior-level, invitation-only event open to all FMI retailer/wholesaler members and their spouses/guests as well as associate members at the Platinum Plus, Platinum and Gold level. FMI Connect 2015 exhibitors are also eligible to attend

Q. Can I bring a co-worker as my spouse/guest? 

A. No, a spouse/guest is a non-industry guest that is not employed by an eligible member company.

Q. My company is not eligible to attend. Who do I contact to upgrade my membership or join FMI so that I'm eligible to attend?

A. Please contact Peter Collins for Associate Membership information or Matt Grizzard for Retailer/Wholesaler membership.

Q.  What is the maximum number of attendees per associate member company eligible to register?
  • Platinum Plus and Platinum Members: Unlimited registrations (includes spouse)
  • Gold Members: 1 registration (includes spouse)
  • 2015 FMI Connect Exhibitors: 1 registration (includes spouse)
  • Silver and Bronze Members:  Not Eligible (contact us to upgrade your membership)
  • Non-Member: Not Eligible (unless you are exhibiting at the 2015 FMI Connect)
Q.  Is there an exception to the limits above for sponsors or SEEs participants?
  • Gold Member Sponsor: 3 additional registrations, plus spouse (maximum 4 total registrations)
  • Gold Members who participate in SEE’s: Up to 3 registration, plus spouse (please note that you cannot combine a Gold Member or a Gold Member 2015 FMI Connect Exhibit registrations to your SEE’s registrations)
  • Exhibitors at the Silver/Bronze Level are not eligible to participate in the SEE’s program
  • All participants in the SEE’s program must be registered and pay their Midwinter registration fee

Golf Tournament

Q: Am I registered for the golf tournament if I checked “yes” on the Midwinter main registration page?

A: No.  A separate golf registration is required.  Please click here to register. 

Q: Can I register for the golf tournament but not the Midwinter Conference?

A: No, you must register for Midwinter to be eligible to play in the golf tournament.

Q: Can I rent golf clubs or shoes for the tournament?

A: Absolutely!  Both golf club rentals ($74.90) and shoe rentals ($26.75) are the sole responsibility of the individual golfer and are not included in the tournament fees.  Please contact Julie Schrei to reserve your rentals.

Q. How much does Golf cost?
A: There is no cost for current FMI Retailer and Wholesaler members.  FMI Associate and Private Brand members must either register as an individual player ($1,000 per player) or sponsor the event, with levels ranging from $10,000 to $25,000.  Click here for more information.

SEEs

Q. How do I sign up for the Strategic Executive Exchanges (SEE)?

A: Commitment forms are available on the website under the SEE tab for the both Retailer/Wholesalers and Suppliers.  There are a limited number of suites for Supplier and it is first come, first booked.  We do keep a waiting list of companies in the case of any suites opening up.

Q: Is there a cost to participate in the Strategic Executive Exchanges (SEE)?

A: The cost for a supplier suite is a flat fee of $5995. The suites are all roughly the same size in 2015 and in the same tower of the hotel.

There is no cost for a retailer/wholesaler to sign up and book meetings with suppliers.

Q: Am I guaranteed a certain number of meetings?

A: No, FMI cannot guarantee the availability of meeting times from participating companies, and cannot force any company to take a meeting.  Contact information will be given for each company for direct outreach between companies.

Q: Do I have to be registered for Midwinter to participate in SEE’s?

A: Yes, you must be a registered attendee for Midwinter in order to participate in company SEE meetings.

Q: How do I know what companies are participating?

A: A list of companies will be posted on the Midwinter website under the SEE tab and updated on a regular basis. 

Q: When will the online scheduler open?

A: In mid-October.

Q: How will I know where to go for meetings?

A: A list of companies and their suites will be posted 3 days prior to the start of meetings on Saturday, January 24th.

FMI Foundation Gala and Industry Awards Dinner

Q. How do I register to attend the Foundation Gala and Awards Dinner? 

Retailers, please RSVP for the dinner during the Midwinter registration process.  While we invite you to attend the dinner as our guest, we hope you’ll recognize the merit and benefit of joining with others in supporting the Foundation through a tax-deductible contribution at one of the 2015 donor levels. 

Associate members, as part of FMI’s core membership, we hope you’ll recognize the merit and benefit of joining with others in supporting the FMI Foundation through a tax deductible contribution at one of the 2015 donor levels.    You may request additional information during the Midwinter registration process.  Indicating your interest does not register you to attend the dinner. FMI Foundation staff will contact you directly with additional details.

Q. How much does the Foundation Gala and Awards Dinner cost?
