FMI Webinar: FDA’s Revisions to the Nutrition Facts Panel

Tuesday, July 19, 2016 (2pm - 3pm US/Eastern)

On May 20, 2016, FDA announced revisions to the Nutrition Facts Panel on food packages and updates to recommended serving sizes.

The revisions include:
• Removing “Calories from fat” from the label;
• Requiring the amount of “added sugars” in each serving of a product;
• Revising the format increase the prominence of the term “Calories.”

Most manufacturers will need to be in compliance with the new labeling requirements by July 26, 2018.

On Tuesday, July 19 at 2:00 p.m. EDT, FMI will host a webinar to provide FMI members with an overview of the revisions to the Nutrition Facts Panel and give member companies a chance to ask questions on the requirements after the presentation. For more information, contact FMI’s chief regulatory officer Stephanie Barnes, sbarnes@fmi.org.
