FMI Webinar: CDC – Questions and Answers about Ebola and Food Safety in the U.S.

Wednesday, January 28, 2015 (11am - 12pm US/Eastern)

FMI will be hosting a webinar with representatives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on the potential impact of Ebola on the food industry. Dr. Robert Tauxe will be presenting on behalf of the CDC. Dr. Tauxe is Deputy Director of the CDC Division that is charged with prevention and control of foodborne, waterborne and fungal infections. The Division monitors the frequency of these infections in the United States, investigates outbreaks, and develops strategies to reduce the disease, disability and deaths that they cause.

The CDC recently posted questions and answers for consumers and the food industry about Ebola and the safety of food in the U.S. - http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/transmission/qas-food-safety.html. The webinar will provide a forum to gain additional insight on the disease for the industry. For more information, contact Stephanie Barnes, sbarnes@fmi.org.
