Prometric TestAccording to U.S. Grocery Shopper Trends 2016, nine out of 10 shoppers say they trust their grocery stores to sell safe food. Maintaining a shopper’s trust continues to be on the forefront of retailers’ mind, which is why it’s important to have food safety resources available.

In June 2016, FMI announced its five-year partnership with Prometric, a global leader in test development and delivery, to bring the Certified Food Protection Manager exam under the FMI SafeMark® program to FMI members and SafeMark® users. The SafeMark program is focused on training grocery managers, supervisors and front-line employees for the nationally accredited Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) exam. Beginning October 1, the SafeMark®, retail-specific CFPM exam will be available through Prometric in a variety of testing formats that will meet the needs of the retail food industry.

SafeMark® and Prometric hosted an Informational Webinar on benefits the new partnership offers.  Some of the benefits include:

  1. Flexible exam delivery options for the SafeMark CFPM exam through Internet-based testing at retail locations, Computer-based testing at Prometric testing centers, or Paper- based testing.
  2. Access to the Prometric SafeMark® CFPM exam.
  3. A CFPM proctor application process that is easy and free.
