Current State Status: New California Retail Food Code (CalCode) requires person in charge to demonstrate knowledge by passing a Certified Food Protection Manager exam. Each retail food establishment must have at least one CFPM.

    State does not approve courses. SSM may be used for exam preparation.

    State does not approve training. Online SSM is acceptable for exam preparation.
